About Melvin Turner
Hi, and welcome to my world of art. I am looking forward to having some fun with painting. After many years of working I am now retired and I have the time to devote to art. My love for Art goes back to when I was young and I have been drawing and painting for a long time. I have some formal training, I took art classes when I was in grade school and high school. I composed scenes for our school plays and bulletin boards. I also attended Faulkner State College studying commercial art. I continue to attend art classes and workshops to build on my knowledge in order to achieve a higher level of painting skills. I am fortunate to live in Fairhope AL, a city that promotes art. I have access to local artists and galleries. We have all phases of the art world here. I have tried many styles of painting, as well as many different techniques. I have studied how others paint, but now, I am developing my own style and putting to use all the great knowledge I have gained from the great Artist I have studied and the from the Artist I have know.
I have had several of my Works voted into the Juried Art Show at the Fairhope, Alabama Art Center, Spring and Summer Art Exhibit. I have sold several of my works from the members sales gallery at the Fairhope Art Center, and I am currently continuing my studies of painting at the Art Center.
I like to paint most everything, and I like the bold and brighter colors of nature. I hope to achieve the same quality of the fine art I have viewed here so far on Fine Art America and by other great Artist I have viewed. These beautiful art works inspire me to work harder to achieve the status of a Fine Artist. Please look around, comments are welcome.
